    @Ogeid - To download the Flash file on that page, you need to provide the downloader with the direct URL to the flash file (i.e. http://wowmaps.onlinewelten.com/gebietauswahl_en.swf).

    By the way, you find information like that by “Viewing the Source Code” for the web page in question. Search for “.swf” to find a reference to the file in the code.

    a nice tool you got here though the site i want to get from doesnt have a full url for the flash in its html it just has a get flash command then the flash file name (one of the hallpass.com games)

    @luis - you are correct. This tool will only download .swf files.

    @keith - I’m not sure of exactly what you are talking about. If you are saying that you are only getting a “blank” Flash movie, then perhaps you are trying to download a Flash movie that is used to load other Flash movies. In that case, you need to supply the URL of the movie that this “blank” Flash movie loads.

    @Goku - I’m sorry, but I can’t help you on this one. Perhaps the reason why hallpass.com has set up their files in this way is to prevent you from downloading them.

    Hey Michael. Excellent tool. It has come in handy many a time and I’d like to thank you for that. I do have a question, though. How would a person download a file such as this?

    Do you know if that is possible? I understand it’s probably because the site doesn’t want me to download their file, but if there’s a way I’d really love to know.

    @Tyler - I am assuming that you mean, “How do I download the SWF file that is loaded into InsertWidget24.swf?” Right? You want the Pacman app, not just the InsertWidget24.swf?

    In that case, you would need to know the direct URL to the particular SWF file you are after, and yes, the reason why they aren’t giving you that URL is because they probably don’t want you to download their file.

    Ah right on. Yeah, getting the PacMan app is my ultimate goal. I didn’t understand that “appID=” part before. Now I get it. It may not help me directly, but at least I get what’s going on. Thank you very much for clearing that up.

    And yeah, I’d like to download this file so I can play it at work :D. The site that it’s hosted on is bound to be blocked by websense soon enough, so I’d like to anticipate that and download the app for offline use. I’m a productive individual, you see.

    Michael, you should make this into an addon for Mozilla Firefox. It’s an excellent tool, if your competent enough to know to use a url with a .swf extension. Excellent tool. Props.

    It seems to be that somthing is wrong. the file size of all that i download is 0 and when i play it, errors are bountiful. Btw, its fromhttp://www.homestarrunner.com/playdate.swf.
